Tokai Silver Star - MIJ - 1983 - Black
Made in Japan in 1983, the SS-38 Silver Star was Tokai’s version of the CBS era Fender Stratocaster.
Featuring an Alder body, The neck is a great piece of Maple, "C" profile and shows some beautiful darkening on the face of the headstock. Slab Rosewood fretboard additionally looks great, being such a dark piece it goes really well with the blackout aesthetic.
Classic 70s strat features like large headstock, bullet truss and a three-bolt neck plate. 3ply scratchplate, black control knobs, 5 way selector switch. Saddles have been replaced to a Fender counterparts. Original Japanese pickups. Toneally this sounds great, lots of stratty character to each position.
This has been given a full professional setup so that it plays at its best.
In good condition, there is playwear present all over this guitar. Fair amount of fretware. Bucklerash on the back of the body. Thin scratch on the bottom left of the face of the guitar. Hardware shows some tarnishing from age. Bottom Strap button has been moved (as shown in picture).
Comes with gig-bag.
