Orville 62’ Reissue SG-65 made in Japan between 1991 and 1996. These guitars were produced for the Japanese market only, through distributor Yamano. They were all made by manufacturers Terada and Fujigen. This guitar is not marked as ‘Orville by Gibson’ because the main entry SG from Orville came with Gibson USA pickups, whereas this model comes with Japanese Pickups. There is no serial number present on this guitar.

This plays phenomenally, a testament to the incredible construction and consistency of Orville in this era. Fully setup, this plays with an nice low, smooth action. Sounds great with all the classic SG tone that we know and love. This is an excellent guitar for the price.

Featuring a African Mahogany body, African Mahogany neck and a Rosewood fretboard with trapezoid inlays. Neck binding looks great with a creamy look, frets are over the binding. Nickel hardware, tuners are not the originals, changed at some point to chrome Gotoh tuners. Gotoh ABR-style Tune-O-Matic bridge and a Gotoh stopbar tailpiece, 5ply angel wing scratch plate. Alongside the two Orville Humbuckers this guitar has 500k pots and big orange drop caps. Volume and tone knobs have been replaced to counterparts with gold tops.

Overall in great condition, hardly any fretware. There are two scratches to the finish on the back of the body, as shown in pictures. Hardware is super clean. Neck is straight, truss rod works. Pickup covers appear to have been replaced.

Comes with gig-bag.

Weight: 3.36kgs.
